Galling has occurred on the rail side surface and wear mark can be observed in the vertical direction.

If flange applicator is introduced prior to this type of damage, the lifespan of wheels and rails can be extended significantly.
Further, even with this amount of damage, as long as the wheel flange width has not reached a limit, introduction of flange applicator will suppress further wear.
